Molly Bakes Cupcakes

I'm sure most readers of my blog have heard of Molly Bakes and her amazing cake pops so I won't go on, but if you don't know her work check out her website

Until recently there were only a few places to buy Molly Bakes cake pops and cakes, but now you can visit her weekly stall at Netil Market on Saturdays.

I popped by last Saturday before work to check out her cute stall and pick up a cake. There was quite a choice.

Everything looked so good but I opted for a non cupcake - gasp. I know. Since I work a lot with cake I find myself not really craving it like I used to, so instead I had a bakewell tart.

Look how pretty it is - who could resist?

I'd not had a good bakewell tart in years and this one was lovely - nice homemade pastry that melted in my mouth.

Next time I pop by I'll pick up a cupcake as well - I promise.

I also still have to bake from Molly's beautiful Cake Pops book, which I received some time ago. It's full of lovely ideas for cake pops.

Finally, if you're in the area for cake two other nearby great places - Lucky Chip for the best burgers in town, I think perhaps surpassing the Meatwagon, and Yum Bun for Momofuku style pork buns.

The Lucky Chip Sheen Burger
Yum Buns Pork Belly Bun
I know they're not cupcakes but they ARE delicious! And no, I didn't eat them all in one go - I work nearby so often pop to different places.

I do love a bakewell tart - they look nice and deep too, not like the commercially made frisbees you often see!

Shame I didnt get to the market in time to get one of Molly's cakes, they look great and I love the cake-pops I've had.

I have to agree about Lucky Chip, that burger (and the chilli cheese fries!) were amazing :)
